WHAT IS FACOELCHE?
FacoElche is a scientific meeting devoted to phacorefractive surgery, held annually in the city of Elche (Spain). Since its first edition in 1999, it has always taken place on the first weekend of February, with its venue from the outset at the Hotel Huerto del Cura of Elche.
FacoElche focuses on anterior segment surgery in general, with particular attention to lens procedures, including cataract surgery and intraocular refractive surgery.
More than 700 ophthalmologists and eye care professionals from Spain and abroad attend. Its programme includes presentations, lectures, satellite and accreditation courses and a live surgery session.
FacoElche is a dynamic meeting with a practical, educational focus, established as Spain’s third most important regularly held ophthalmology meeting after those of the two main official societies.
